2018 BSCAI Compensation Report
The 2018 BSCAI Compensation Report provides detailed analysis of exempt employee compensation including base salary, bonus, and total compensation along with detailed hourly wage rates and fringe benefits. Results profiled in this report are based on 2018 compensation and benefit data provided by 41 building services contractors, totaling 29,621 employees in 7 exempt employee classifications and 4 hourly employee wage classifications.
The tables and graphs contained in this report are designed to provide comprehensive, yet straightforward guidelines for analyzing compensation packages among building services contractors.
Report Format
The report is organized into a number of sections, each designed to assist management in a specific
area of inquiry:
- Exempt Employee Compensation Summary—The summary provides an overview of exempt employee results, with emphasis on the 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th and 90th percentile differences.
- Hourly Employee Wage Summary—The summary provides an overview of the study results, with emphasis on the differences lowest hourly wage rate, average lowest hourly wage rate, overall average hourly wage rate, average highest hourly wage rate, and highest hourly wage rate.
- Analysis by Region—To evaluate geographical differences, all reporting firms were classified according to the following regions:

- Market Size Analysis—This section of the report reviews performance by market size of company. Metropolitan Statistical Areas are geographic entities defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget for use by Federal statistical agencies in collecting, tabulating, and publishing Federal statistics.
